Project overview

Healthcare is in a period of incredible transformation. With shifting pressures, new technologies, and changing beliefs, disruption is coming from everywhere. To empower and encourage patients to lean into their health, we need new, patient-centric models of engagement.

My Health Roadmap is a patient-facing dashboard that encourages and assists patients in managing their health through a personalized, simple, and easy-to-use interface.

A KP + Doberman partnership

Kaiser Permanente's Health Innovation Studio partnered with the interactive design firm Doberman to build a patient-facing dashboard. Through research and prototyping, our team and the Doberman consultants interviewed over 50 patients and providers to develop a new online portal for KP members — one built around their unique care journeys.

How might we

Build a tool that lets patients seamlessly manage their own health and easily access their health information — with personalized interpretations — while reducing patient reliance on their providers?

Designing the interface across screens in Sketch, with handoff through Zeplin and InVision.

An iterative prototype

Using an iterative process, we built three different prototypes to meet patient and provider needs — testing, learning, and refining toward a portal that patients would genuinely want to use.
